A bit about Mark Ediger & your inspection......
My background in the real estate/construction field began as the son of long-time respected Topeka home builder "Robert Ediger". I grew up working "hands on" with my dad during summers, and eventually began and operated my own construction company for 20 years ("Mark Ediger-Builder"). The company primarily focused on building single family homes, but also included remodeling, commercial remodeling, and construction of multi-family homes. I enjoyed personally providing the trim carpentry for many of the homes I built.
This extensive construction background, and a commitment to continuing education, ensures that you receive a thorough analysis of your home's condition during your inspection.
The state of Kansas no longer has a "Home Inspectors Registration Board", with its accompanying licensing, minimum experience and education requirements, minimum "Standards of Practice", and proof of financial responsibility and insurance requirements for home inspectors (legislation expired on July 1, 2013). Heritage Inspections was always in compliance with these requirements and continues to maintain or exceed these standards (former state of Kansas license #0611-209).
To that end, I maintain my certification in good standing with the "International Association of Certified Home Inspectors" (InterNACHI) and their rigorous continuing education requirements, code of ethics, and standards of practice. I maintain Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance and General Liability (GL) insurance. I am a member of the "Kansas Association of Real Estate Inspectors" (KAREI), and an associate member of the "Sunflower Association of Realtors" (SAR). I am licensed in the state of Kansas as a certified Radon Measurement Technician (certification number #KS-MS-0095).

Let's talk.
Choosing the right home inspector can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably will not get to meet me until after you hire me. Furthermore, different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods and--yes--different pricing. One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work--a lot of work. Ultimately, a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector's own effort. If you honor me by permitting me to inspect your new home, I guarantee that I will give you my very best effort. This I promise you.
